Why do you want to be a member of the Mixed School Board No. 1 of Lake Geneva? Being in education is in my heart. I have been teaching since 1975 in the Lake Geneva region. After teaching for 36 years at Denison Jr. High School, Lake Geneva Middle School, Woods School and George Williams College, I also supervised graduate students in education at George Williams. Substitute teaching in all of our schools has also helped my learning curve.
My experiences currently bring an additional perspective to our board. A perspective that brings hands-on learning and understanding of the day-to-day operations of all segments of our school district. Our schools and our education are changing rapidly and we need to prepare for it. I can help bring our changing educational strategies to our schools.
What do you think are some of the issues currently affecting the school district? Our school district has a strategic plan in which goals are set for a period of up to four years. Every board meeting, these goals are discussed to see how we are achieving those goals. I look at the plan as growing each month for the district.
What do you think makes you a quality candidate for the school board? A quality school board candidate must have effective communication skills, hear all sides of a situation, be fair, be an individual but work in a group when needed, understand the school system, and not have their own personal agenda which has a negative impact.
I have a degree in Speech Language Pathology and English in Education which allows me not only to have taught over 4,000 students, but also to learn what our community needs in today’s society to be a good strong candidate. Children are our precious asset and we must raise them in a well-supported school family, made up of educators, families and the community. Let’s do this together.
Occupation: Restaurant owner and operator
Community involvement: I have been involved in many community engagements throughout my tenure as a resident of Lake Geneva. This includes the Lake Geneva Jaycees, the Geneva Lakes YMCA, the Lake Geneva Alzheimer’s Walk, and numerous community fundraising events.
Elected past experience: Lake Geneva Jaycees Board of Directors (14 terms), Venetian Festival Board of Directors (13 terms), Geneva Lakes Family YMCA Board of Directors (2010-Current).
Why do you want to be a member of the Mixed School Board No. 1 of Lake Geneva? As a citizen, we are responsible for giving back to our community in one way or another.
I would like to continue to provide my community with leadership skills that will foster the growth of our children, provide our teachers and administrators with the tools they need to accomplish these tasks, and help create policy that promotes the ideals that EVERY student deserved. the equality of chances.
What do you think are some of the issues currently affecting the school district? As we have had to make a significant shift in the past two years, we find that there is an increasing need to identify students who are falling behind and those who are socially/emotionally in need of extra help. I believe that with excellent teachers and administrators, we can move forward and exceed our goals.
What do you think makes you a quality candidate for the school board? I have an interest in not only being a taxpayer, but also a business owner and the father of a current student. I am one of five generations to have lived here in Lake Geneva, and my goal as a citizen, taxpayer, entrepreneur and parent has always been and will continue to be to take care of our fellow citizens first. I’m showing up for the right reason, to help implement policies that provide a great education/experience for all students.
Occupation: Automation engineering manager

Elected past experience: nothing.
Why do you want to be a member of the Mixed School Board No. 1 of Lake Geneva? As a father, I believe that education and knowledge increase life path choices. My goal is to inspire young people to make life purpose decisions in good and difficult times that lead them to their aspirations.
What do you think are some of the issues currently affecting the school district? The neighborhood faces an ever-changing environment and its ability to adapt quickly to provide stability and security. Just look at recent history with growing health issues and costs. Often these have a greater effect on the environment of the young student than many realize. Opening doors for students to grow is important for their growth and opportunities.
What do you think makes you a quality candidate for the school board? I attended many school board meetings. As a member, difficult debates are necessary to pave the way forward.
